DESCRIPTION:Rome's best BBQ from the Knights of Columbus returns Labor Day\; order now For nearly six decades\, the Knights of Columbus of St. Mary's Catholic Church have crafted Rome's best barbecue for thousands of families with proceeds benefitting Northwest Georgia charities. This Labor Day\, Sept. 7\, the 58th edition returns to the Rome Civic Center with both take-out and dine-in available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or sold out. Online preorders have begun for bulk carryout-only sales of barbecue\, Brunswick stew\, chicken\, ribs\, carnitas and baked beans. You can order until Sept. 6 at www.romebbq.com with drive-through pickup available Sept. 7. The menu:  Half rack of ribs\, $20. Pound of pulled beef barbecue\, $12.  Pound of pulled pork barbecue\, $12.  Pound of pork cantinas\, $12.  Quart of Brunswick stew\, $12.  Half a chicken\, $12.  Quart of baked beans\, $10. Indoor dining also is available with plates selling for $12 each and featuring your choice of pork\, beef\, chicken or carnitas with baked beans\, coleslaw\, bread\, chips\, tea or lemonade. Credit cards\, checks and cash will be accepted at the civic center. The Knights are preparing roughly 700 pounds of pork\, 200 pounds of beef\, 150 pounds of carnitas\, 150 half chickens\, 275 half racks of ribs\, 550 quarts of Brunswick stew and 150 quarts of baked beans. All proceeds are returned to the community. The Knights have donated nearly $350\,000 to date\, including Haven Health Clinic\, Habitat for Humanity\, Aid to Veterans\, Network Day Services\, Coats for Kids\, Special Olympics\, Rome Community Kitchen\, Habitat for Humanity and others. "Thanks to our great returning customers and lots of new faces\, the Knights are able to assist some of our community's dedicated nonprofit groups\," says Greg Armstrong\, barbecue chair.
